At OBAV, we’re passionate about crafting the ultimate adventure vehicles – specifically on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis.

Based in Tucson, AZ, we’re a small team dedicated to handcrafting high-quality, four-season adventure vans. Our vanlife journey began in 2018 with a personal need—we built our first van as a mobile workspace for our video production company, allowing us to work while traveling across the U.S. That experience gave us firsthand insight into what makes a van truly capable, reliable, and easy to service—qualities that now define every OBAV build. We officially started building vans for others to enjoy in 2020 and have enjoyed turning our passion into a small business.

At OBAV we focus on quality over quantity. Every OBAV van is built by hand, using high-end, marine-grade components to ensure durability in even the most demanding conditions. We design our vans to be easily serviceable and ready for whatever vanlife throws their way—so you can travel further with confidence into each adventure.

  • The goal is to explore off the beaten path with total confidence, knowing your van is built to handle the journey—there and back. Every OBAV is engineered for rugged reliability, featuring upgraded suspension systems, redundant electrical setups, and essential recovery tools to keep you in control, no matter where your adventure takes you.

  • At OBAV, every detail—inside and out, seen and unseen—must meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and design. If it doesn’t look good, it doesn’t belong in an OBAV van. From the materials we choose to the way every component is installed, beauty and precision are built into every inch.

  • We use only high-quality, name-brand components that we trust to perform under the harshest conditions. A van is essentially a moving earthquake, and we build every OBAV with that in mind—ensuring durability, reliability, and long-term performance, no matter where the road takes you.

  • Even the most dependable components can wear down over time, which is why we build every OBAV with serviceability in mind. Unlike many other builders, our cabinets, walls, ceiling panels, and accessories are easily removable, allowing you, us, or your service provider to quickly access and repair anything that may arise.

    This thoughtful design also means your van can adapt to your evolving needs. Want to add more seating, upgrade your power system, or install the latest gear? No problem. With an OBAV van, you’re not as locked into a static build as you would be with other builders—you have the option to grow, change, and customize as your desired adventures evolve.

  • We build on new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans, ensuring your vehicle comes with a transferable manufacturer warranty. Beyond that, every OBAV build is backed by a 2-year warranty, covering the interior craftsmanship—excluding normal wear and tear. Have questions?
